8/10/2025

Connecticut is a state steeped in history, and with that history comes chilling ghost stories and paranormal legends. Across the state, some places have gained reputations so eerie that they attract ghost hunters, thrill seekers, and skeptics every Halloween.
  1. Union Cemetery (Easton) – Perhaps the most infamous haunted site in Connecticut, Union Cemetery is said to be home to the mysterious “White Lady,” who has been spotted by countless visitors and even photographed by paranormal investigators.
  2. Fairfield Hills State Hospital (Newtown) – Once a psychiatric facility, Fairfield Hills has long been shrouded in legends of ghostly patients and dark history. While no longer in operation, its looming buildings and tunnels remain a chilling reminder of the past.
  3. Seaside Sanatorium (Waterford) – This abandoned hospital, once a treatment center for children with tuberculosis, is rumored to be haunted by former patients. Its deteriorating halls echo with stories of shadow figures and unexplained noises.
  4. Lighthouse Inn (New London) – Once a popular resort, this historic inn is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman who died tragically on the grounds. Guests and staff have reported flickering lights, cold spots, and eerie footsteps.
  5. Leffingwell House Museum (Norwich) – With roots in the Revolutionary War era, this museum blends American history with spooky tales. Visitors report seeing apparitions and hearing voices when the building is otherwise empty.
  6. Norwich State Hospital (Preston) – Abandoned since the 1990s, the hospital grounds are notorious for their paranormal reputation. Paranormal investigators claim it is one of the most active sites in the state.
  7. Ancient Burying Ground (Hartford) – Dating back to the 1600s, this historic cemetery is said to be haunted by restless spirits of colonial settlers.

These sites highlight Connecticut’s darker side and keep ghost stories alive generation after generation. Whether you’re a true believer or just curious, these haunted places provide the perfect backdrop for Halloween chills.
